Open Kitchen Layout = Open Home Flow
The more walls in your home, the smaller, more closed in your home feels, so knock that wall down and make your kitchen feel even bigger and flow seamlessly with the rest of your home’s layout.
Pick A Company You Trust
Remodeling your home is a big deal, so whenever you’re in the process of choosing the company that you’re going to hire, choose wisely. You should feel comfortable with the contractor you pick. They are going to be in charge of your dream remodel and you should be able to trust the person that is going to be in and out of your home over the course of several weeks or even months. Trust that they understand your wants and needs and their experience is going to help deliver exactly what you envision.
Personal Preference Beats Trends
So often we see kitchen designs copy and pasted. Don’t get me wrong,I love the white shaker with black hardware and white counter tops, but if you see something you like that isn’t exactly “trending” don’t be afraid to change it up! Trends are constantly shifting so choose what you love!
Know the Difference Between Granite and Quartz Countertops
Granite is a natural stone formed in the Earths Crust resulting in very unique slabs. So whatever slab you choose is going to be one of a kind. Quartz countertops are man made, it consists of quartz dust bound together by resin. I personally prefer granite because of how beautiful different slabs are but from what I have seen, especially within my time working in Washington is that many people lean towards quartz because they want white countertops to offset the gray skies. To each their own but if you want to add a bit more color and fun to your kitchen, choose granite!
Lighting Can Transform a Kitchen
Add more light! Whether it be through a window that wasn’t there before or through under cabinet lighting. Additional lighting can help with kitchen functionality, making the space feel bigger or even just not giving your secret away when you’re sneaking in for a 2AM snack.
