Well, yesterday, I was privileged to see another side of Andrés Muñoz at Seattle Area Feline Rescue. A softer side. The man who can throw a fastball at 100 mph ?gently cradled tiny kittens, inquiring after each one and wishing them well. Andrés thanked every member of the team for their daily hard work and said they're making a difference. He's humble and kind... and the cats are fans for sure! If his hot streak in baseball continues, Andrés will probably be in the hall of fame one day... but his winning smile is a tell - this guy has already succeeded in life. His beloved mom back home in Mexico cares for 8 cats and she's proud of her son. His beautiful wife and their cat Matilda go with Andrés when our M's travel. Jason entered the party scene at 17. After years in a cycle of addiction and homelessness, he was introduced to Seattle's Union Gospel Mission's Search + Rescue team. Today, Jason has been clean more than 10 years, is married, and is the father of four, and is in a church community that has "blessed [his] socks off".
