Tacoma Humane is where they make happy happen, and we’ve got one of the happy makers with us this morning. Lindsey, welcome back to SPIRIT 105.3. How are you?
Lindsey:
Hi. I’m doing really well. How are you doing?
Erica:
I’m wonderful and super excited to hear about Poorly Drawn Pets. What a fabulous idea.
Lindsey:
Yeah, so right now we’re doing our fifth annual Poorly Drawn Pets. It’s happening right now on our Facebook page. And so for a $30 donation, you can submit a photo of your pet or pet, and we have a bunch of volunteer drawers who will hilariously more often than not, draw your pet for you, and then we resubmit that into our Facebook post in the comments.
Erica:
So fun. What has the response been like?
Lindsey:
Oh, it’s been wonderful. We’ve had over 400 pictures submitted, and we’ve raised over $17,000 so far on that Facebook post.
Erica:
Oh, Lindsey, that’s awesome.
Lindsey:
We just have so many wonderful photos, and in fact, if you go to that Facebook page post and you go into the comments, you can already start seeing some of the hilarious drawings back. You can see the before and afters. It’s a really fun time.
Erica:
Yeah, It sounds like therapy, quite frankly.
Lindsey:
It kind of does.
Erica:
I love it. You’re wonderful, Lindsey, from Tacoma Humane where they make happy happen. Thanks for being with us.
Lindsey:
Thank you so much.
