Isme and her children finally have a safe place to stay, thanks to the grand opening of Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission emergency Women and Children’s Shelter.
“So before, I had to sleep in the car. It was very cold. So I had to go to the airport every night and just stay there on a bench with my kids for a month because they didn’t have no shelters, and everywhere was full.”
Now, Isme and her children are safe, warm, and fed.
I had a chance to tour the new 106-bed shelter this past week. I was blown away by the warmth, beauty, and security this facility offers. A place to rest at night, bathrooms including bathtubs for mothers to bathe their children, and a playroom (both indoor and outdoor!) where kids can be kids.
The clothing boutique is set up like a true store, with only the best-of-the-best in coats, purses, shoes, and more.
Join us in celebrating this fantastic facility which we dedicated to the Lord with a special red-carpet ceremony just a few days ago. Here, women and their children will receive love, compassion, support, case management, warm meals, safety, and the love of Christ as they find hope.
