Do you recall a time recently when you felt out of control, defeated and afraid? I came upon a story the other day that was such a great reminder to me of where I need to be in those challenging times and I wanted to share it with you, too.
Author Marion Bond West wrote about a time when she was faced with the possibility of losing her second husband Gene, due to a medical complication. She was in the hospital, afraid, her emotions were far from being sensible. She was reliving the anguish she felt some eight years earlier when she lost her first husband to brain cancer.
Angry she was going through this again she reached out to her daughter for comfort, and her daughter said calmly, ‘Mother, you know what you’ve done? You’ve gotten outside The Bubble. Just get back into The Bubble, get on the elevator, and go to Gene. You are fine. You can do this—in The Bubble.’
Marion remembered, ’The Bubble’ is Jesus. It’s a formula she and the children came up with when their father was dying. If you get ‘in Jesus’, you can almost ‘float’ through any situation, and He takes all stress while you ‘hide,’ protected in Him. No longer did she feel alone or vulnerable.
Hopefully the next time a stressful situation occurs and you feel angry, frustrated, out of control and like you just want to strike back… get in ‘The Bubble’.
In His grip-

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
