Please, Lord, don't let them put the crown of thorns upon Your head and the scepter in Your hand. ?No! Please, Lord, don't let them mock You. ?No! Please, Lord, don't let them spit on You. ?No! Please, Lord, don't let them nail you to that cross! ?No! Please, Lord, don't let the Father turn away from You! ?No! Please Lord, don't let them roll the stone in front of Your tomb! These were my thoughts tonight as the candles were extinguished, one by one, during our service of shadows. As the church darkened, my heart swelled with deep love for our Savior... for He said yes to all these terrible, evil things, for you, for me. ?️? "This is real love-not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins." On this darkest of days, we remember the agony our Lord Jesus willingly endured for each one of us. He could have taken matters into His own hands, but instead, He allowed nails to pierce His hands and feet. He could have called an army of angels to his side, but instead He allowed a spear to pierce His side. These things fulfilled a prophecy: "They will look on the One they pierced." Look upon Christ on the cross tonight. Go with the mourners to His grave. And give thanks... for our God turns graves into gardens. ?? You are LOVED, Erica #GoodFriday2025
