I totally get Peter. He knew Jesus was the son of God. He trusted the Lord, believed deeply in Him... and messed up a lot. When Jesus was arrested, Peter cut off the ear of one of the guards and ran away with the others. Peter was so scared that he denied that he knew His Lord. Vehemently. Three times. YET... The angel had a message for the women who came to the empty tomb on that first Easter morning: "Don't be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, Who was crucified. He isn't here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid His body. Now go and tell His disciples, INCLUDING PETER, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see Him there, just as He told you before He died!" Jesus wanted Peter to know that He forgave him. I think this is a message for you and me too!
